Baby Marlee, our Miracle Baby

Meet Marlee...my sweet little great niece. OK, that makes me sound old!!! She has had quite an extraordinary 3 wks of life. I was so excited to photograph her delivery, but only two extra people were allowed in the delivery room and I was usurped by the grandma's :( So, I visited the next day and took a few pics of her.

At 10 days old I did this newborn shoot. Melissa, her mom, commented to us that she thought her tummy seemed really big and hard.

Two days later she took her to instacare for a cold and fever and they sent her to Primary's Children Hospital. It turned out she had a really bad infection in her intestines. They thought she may have a colon disease but fortunately it came back negative. After a few days she started going downhill and was rushed into surgery. They cleaned out the infection and tried to figure out the source but with no luck. Melissa and Lance were later told that they thought they were going to lose her Marlee right there and they had never seen a baby so sick.

After much prayer, fasting, and blessings, Marlee started to get better much to the doctors amazment. She was going to have to stay in the hospital for 10 wks to watch her and wait for her next surgery, but a Christmas miracle came and they were able to take Marlee home today. The doctors still don't know how the infection came and how she was healed, but she's home safe and sound, just in time for Christmas.

Marlee's cousin Brooklyn dropped by and so we got some cousins shots and a few of Brooklyn in the same tutu I photographed her in when she was a newborn. How cute are they?

Here is Proud Grandma Lisa. This is my sister-in-law, my brother's wife. These precious babies belong to Jeff and Lisa's oldest two boys: Chris and Lance.
What a Christmas Blessing

Chapman Family

As if you haven't noticed, I've been a little behind with my blogging. I have just been swamped with shoots, editing, Christmas, family, etc. But I have four more shoots to post after this, so check back soon.

This is the Chapman family and it seemed the forces of nature were trying to keep us apart. But alas, we were persistent and finally hooked up on a cold Nov. day. These adorable boys were real troopers and did their best with their coats off.

Don't you just wanna eat this little guy up?

This was my favorite moment. I told the boys to lean in and touch their heads. This was the interpretation of my comment.

Thanks for not giving up. No work schedule or bad weather should keep you from getting your family portraits.
