Derek & Amanda Groomals

These cutie patooties are Amanda and Derek. What a cute couple. They have been friends since they were children and you know their parents were more than thrilled when they not only started dating, but then got engaged. My good friend Merrily shot the wedding and she was kind enough to invite me to come along to the groomals as an assistent and 2nd photographer. It's fun to focus on the candids and "love" shots. Amanda got ready in the Joseph Smith building basement bathroom. Here she is putting on the final touches.

Here is the moment Derek saw Amanda for the first time in her dress...classic!

And then is started to rain.

"We put our left arm in, we put our left arm out..."

Gorgeous dress, n'est-ce pas?

I LOVE the Mr. & Mrs. Smith run

Derek requested this shot since his parents have the same jump on their wedding day:)

So this is how they're starting out their marriage?

As the sun was setting and we were finishing up, Derek grabbed his guitar, sat on the steps of the temple and began to serenade his sweetie. It was so fun to watch, listen to, and shoot. He was making up some fun lyrics. I love to see bride/grooms just being themselves.

This was so fun to be a part of, especially since I've known Amanda for years. Thanks to Merrily for inviting me to tag along.
